The Gaza Ceasefire Exposed: Profit, Power, and the Betrayal of Peace
How a ceasefire in Gaza masks a sinister agenda of colonial expansion and genocide — a calculated plan to exploit Palestinians, and pave the way for imperial domination.
A Dangerous Alliance
This ‘ceasefire’ is not about peace; it is a calculated pause to prepare for a deepening of oppression, colonization, and apartheid. As the ceasefire in Gaza took effect, Israeli settlers unleashed a wave of violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, perpetuating the cycle of so-called “price tag” attacks that are rarely punished by the Israeli government and are often tacitly supported.
During a raid in Qalqilya, the Israeli army detained 64 Palestinians, just a day after releasing 90 prisoners as part of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas. The return of Trump, alongside Israel’s far-right leadership, signals an era where truth is rejected, law is dismantled, and genocide is reframed as opportunity.
As Trump starts his second term with Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio at the helm, the world must recognize that the suffering of Palestinians is not incidental—it is central to their vision of power, profit, and domination.
Huckabee and Rubio represent a dangerously one-sided support for Israel that rejects truth, fact, and law while actively dismantling them. Under the Trump administration, their rhetoric and actions redefined U.S. policy as a tool of blind allegiance to Israel’s far-right agenda, erasing any pretense of neutrality or justice.
Nikki Haley, who may not be part of Trump’s new cabinet, still brazenly dismissed international law when she served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations during his first term, labeling any criticism of Israel’s occupation as anti-Semitic while justifying egregious human rights violations with moral grandstanding.
Huckabee, who is Trump’s new ambassador to Israel cloaked in the language of religious prophecy, championed Israel’s illegal settlements in the West Bank as “God’s will,” effectively rewriting history and law to fit his messianic worldview.
Marco Rubio, who is now the US Secretary of State, targeted nonviolent resistance while in Congress, pushing legislation to criminalize the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement in a chilling assault on free speech.
Rubio, who has collected more than one million dollars from AIPAC, has signaled his support for a deal to spend tens of billions of taxpayer funds each year to defend the Saudi regime, as a gift, if they normalize with Israel.
Huckabee’s unwavering support for Israel goes far beyond mere political allegiance—it is a radical, religiously charged crusade that denies Palestinian humanity while sanctifying Israeli aggression. Cloaked in the language of prophecy and divine will, Huckabee consistently champions Israel’s illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, framing them as “God’s will” and a fulfillment of biblical promises.
By doing so, he dismisses international law, decades of UN resolutions, and the basic human rights of Palestinians as mere obstacles to what he calls a “biblical mandate.” His rhetoric is not only inflammatory but also deeply exclusionary, casting Palestinians as obstacles to Israel’s divine destiny while legitimizing the dispossession and erasure of entire communities.
The former Arkansas Governor has published a children’s book about the country with animated characters from the Torah and Holocaust. The Kids Guide to Israel, one of his many children’s books from a company he co-founded, tells a reductive and ridiculously made-up story of courageous Jews standing up against “Arabs” and antisemites to create a country that is “central to the world’s destiny and salvation.” Palestinians exist only as villainous antagonists.
Huckabee’s extremism is most glaring in his outright dismissal of Palestinian suffering. On numerous visits to Israel, he has stood alongside settlers in illegal outposts, celebrating their presence as a triumph of faith while ignoring the systemic violence and oppression these settlements inflict on Palestinians.
He even compared Israel’s illegal annexation of Palestinian land to the expansion of the United States, likening Palestinian resistance to the plight of Native Americans, a chilling normalization of colonialism.
For Huckabee, Israel is not just a political ally but a theological imperative, and this dangerous worldview blinds him to the realities of apartheid and occupation, reducing a brutal conflict to a one-sided narrative of religious entitlement.
His fervent advocacy doesn’t just embolden Israel’s far-right government—it actively erases the possibility of justice, peace, or coexistence.
Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister and staunch ally of Israel’s settler movement, has long fused conservative Christian ideology with hardline politics. Huckabee reaffirmed his unwavering support for the rogue state during a visit to Israel after the October 7 attack, declaring, “Evangelicals stand with Israel.”
Huckabee’s worldview exemplifies the dangerous intersection of religious fervor and political extremism, with unwavering support for Israel as its cornerstone, laying the groundwork for an alarming future: a U.S. foreign policy that proudly and loudly legitimizes annexation, normalizes apartheid, and dehumanizes Palestinians in the name of “security” and “prosperity.”
Colonialism Disguised as Diplomacy
Trump’s recent comments about Gaza only confirm that, however horrific Biden’s unwavering support for Israel’s relentless war and genocide in Gaza has been, a return to Trump’s administration promises even worse. “Gaza’s interesting,” Trump said this week, describing it as “a phenomenal location…on the sea, the best weather…some fantastic things could be done with Gaza.” These words reduce a besieged and brutalized territory to a real estate opportunity, erasing its people, their suffering, and their history.
Now, with Israel awarding 12 gas exploration licenses to companies like BP in the midst of its war on Gaza, the economic motives behind this agenda are laid bare. These licenses, tied to billions in future investments, are part of Israel’s efforts to expand control over the Mediterranean, exploiting the same waters that Palestinians in Gaza are denied access to. It is colonialism in real-time, veiled in the language of “progress.”
Kushner’s Role in Shaping Trump’s Vision
Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and the architect of the so-called “Abraham Accords,” reinforced this dangerous vision. Kushner, whose real estate background informs his geopolitics, dismissed Palestinian sovereignty as an obstacle to economic progress. “They have to focus on their opportunities, not their grievances,” he said, framing dispossession and occupation as business hurdles rather than violations of human rights. Kushner’s policies paved the way for a future where profit trumps people, and annexation and exploitation are normalized under the guise of development.
The Ceasefire as a Tactical Pause
This ceasefire, far from signaling a path to peace, is nothing more than a political calculation by Trump and Netanyahu—an intermission in the relentless violence against Palestinians. Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich recently confirmed this grim reality, threatening to resume the destruction of Gaza in an effort to salvage his image among his Religious Zionism Party followers. In a speech laced with dehumanizing, racist rhetoric, Smotrich dismissed the ceasefire as a temporary setback, vowing to continue the genocide and calling for Israel to occupy Gaza fully, with the ultimate goal of building settlements on its ruins. His party views the ceasefire as a defeat, advocating for total domination of Gaza under the guise of security.
The video below reveals Trump’s imperialist plans disguised as diplomacy.
Imperialism Disguised as Diplomacy
Smotrich’s open call for more violence, paired with the awarding of gas exploration licenses, underscores the broader agenda: the annexation and economic exploitation of Palestinian land, no matter the human cost.
